Winter weather can be mercurial. Check the weather report for this area and plan your travel accordingly. Snow plows do not operate on secondary roads between 8PM and 5AM. The road to the house is a single lane dirt country road. It is plowed by the town of Bovina Center but will still have potholes so drive carefully. The driveway to the cabin is UPHILL. 4WD or AWD vehicles are necessary. If you are unfamiliar with driving in the snow, particularly uphill, search online for tips. Sites like AAA have good information. The driveway is plowed and shoveled to the entrance. The driveway is plowed every several inches of fallen snow but if it is snowing, there may still be snow on the driveway. A shovel is provided, please keep the walkway maintained during your stay.

We want your stay to be safe, comfortable, and smooth. Here are a few important details to know before and during your visit:

•The main floor has a twin XL daybed that sleeps one.
•Guests must be comfortable using the ladder. The loft setup is not ideal for small children or infants.

The cabin is well decorated and I can tell that a lot of thought went into building out the surrounding area. I loved the hammock and the cute lights, it is absolutely adorable. The communication at first was a bit difficult but I was coming in tight after 4th of July but once I checked in Kim was super helpful! I had a lot of issues with the house manual unfortunately so I needed a lot of help. Hope it gets updated soon and the shower description as it is just a hand pump with no dedicated place to shower, thankfully the area is pretty private!

My partner and I needed an escape from the city and this place was an absolutely gem of a find. It was so calming to be off the grid and to hear the sounds of nature as we fell asleep each night! The cabin was easy to find and the amenities were easy to find and navigate. It was magical to sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and see the deer graze in the fern field! If you are in need of a get away to reconnect with nature and slow down, this is the perfect place :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing stay at this cabin. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature, this is the perfect spot. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains, making it an ideal place to relax, read, hike, enjoy a campfire, or simply listen to the sounds of nature. It was exactly the quiet escape I was hoping for. One of my favorite parts of the experience was waking up to the peaceful scenery every morning and spending my evenings by the fire. The location feels private and secluded while still being close enough to explore the surrounding area. The host was kind, responsive, and made the entire check-in process easy. Overall, I had a memorable experience and left feeling refreshed and grateful for my time there. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a unique nature getaway, and I would happily stay here again in the future.
