The Hideout was the perfect place to spend Labor Day weekend. The whole space is beautifully curated with top of the line appliances, thoughtful details, cozy linens, lush greenery and flowers. We loved spending the evenings playing board games, listening to the songs of nearby owls, and gazing up at the incredible view of the stars and late summer meteor showers. The property is wonderfully secluded and quiet but still close to delicious cafes and restaurants: we stopped at The Junction in Roscoe on our way in for unforgettable fried green tomato BLTs and drove to the neighboring town of Delhi to have lunch and bring back artisanal breads and trout dip from The Hollow. We also visited the Smoke Joint in Livingston Manor on our way home for mouthwatering barbecue. The Airstream, which was the crown jewel of the whole experience, was stylishly renovated while maintaining its quintessential midcentury charm, comfortable, and a joy to wake up in each morning. I do recommend bringing warm pajamas or extra blankets for cooler evenings, and maybe a sleeping mask if you’re someone who would prefer not to be awoken by the sun as the trailer does not have curtains. The outdoor shower was also a refreshing treat and shouldn’t be skipped! Kim provided detailed information, a thorough but common sense list of checkout to-dos, and was quick to respond to any questions. All said, we were sad to leave and hope to return soon.
